May 11, 2007 - Nothing Rocks Like Winning a Soul

We woke up late this morning, after witnessing late last night.  We had heard a lot of stories about the liberal spirits in Santa Cruz, and for the most part, they seemed to be true.  By the afternoon, we were all tanked up on God's Word and inspired to get out there again and search for more lost souls and disciples.

We ventured out in the Prophet Bus, after reading what Jesus said in Luke 15:7, that  "joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repents."   Well there must have been plenty of joy in heaven last night, as 49 people prayed with us to ask Jesus into their lives and hearts.

We started off again on Main Street in Santa Cruz and ended up on the boardwalk, which was a combined walkway and amusement park located on the beach. It was an amazing time of talking personally to over 300 people, most of whom were intrigued by the music we sang and by the fact that we kept pulling out our small Bibles show them what Jesus said about going to heaven; how to hear God's voice and how to live the life of a disciple.  We sang, we witnessed and we prayed with the people we met. It was a thrilling night that we will never forget!

Meanwhile, our new disciple, Daryl, was just as zealous as the rest of our team, giving out Gospel tracts and sharing her own personal testimony about meeting Jesus and giving her life to Him. Even though she is a brand new Christian, she was already a powerful witness to everyone she met. And when she told them that she had been a disciple for only one day, it shocked and amazed everyone even more!  By the way, Daryl had been a heavy smoker for nine years and gave up her cigarettes from one day to the next to become a disciple.  Amazing but true!

By 1:30 A.M., we were all exhilarated and exhausted at the same time.  We headed off back to the bus to return to the home of some old friends, Tom and Val.  They had invited us for a late dinner and the use their shower before hitting the sack.  We can't wait to get out there on the streets again tomorrow.  "For the harvest is plenteous, but the laborers are few."  If you'd like to help us win the world for Jesus, we certainly welcome your help!
